Career Research is useful throughout the exploration process to learn more about career fields or majors and how they fit with interests, skills, values, and needs of the community. Along with secondary sources, primary sources such as contacting alumni or professionals to conduct informational interviews can make all the difference when making a decision between one career field or another.
Researching Majors
- Make a list of 1-5 majors that already interest you
- Review the list of majors offered at Augustana College
- Research what you might do with the majors that interest you

- Explore majors through MyPlan
- For each major that interests you, make a list of career fields or job titles that are popular for that major
- Research Fields of Interest related to those majors
- To earn your Viking Score Points you must meet with a Career Coach to discuss what you have learned and plan for next steps
