Who is my Career Coach?
When scheduling an appointment using Handshake, you will choose an appointment type based on your field of interest. If you are still unsure where your field of interest lies, you also have the option of choosing Exploring Majors and Careers to meet with a Career Coach to discuss your talents, passions, and skills to determine a good fit for you.
Career Coaches are available to all students. Career Coaches are assigned different Career Fields of Interest. Think about which field of interest suits you to choose your Career Coach.

Sumita Amrik

Sumita has over 12 years’ experience working in Higher Education in different roles and departments. Sumita’s own experience as an international students gives her a unique perspective on the challenges and rewards that many Augustana College students face. Sumita’s passion is learning new skills and working with students. She also has skills working with Adult and Dislocated populations. Sumita serves as the Career Coach for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math and Environment Fields of Interest.
Keri Bass

Keri Bass is starting her third year with Career Development & Vocation after serving within the First Year Advising Office. Keri is an Augustana College graduate who is passionate about student success. She has served in several roles, all supporting students in exploring who they are and who they want to be. Keri will remain the Assistant Director of Vocational Exploration and will also serve as the Career Coach for students Exploring Majors & Careers.

Claire comes to Augustana College with over 10 years in career development, teaching & facilitation, and student development. She has served across the Midwest (and in rural Japan!) in teaching, advising, and professional development roles. She has worked with people in the community from diverse backgrounds including refugees, veterans, first-gen college students, low income job seekers, and international students. Claire is inspired by innovative solution seeking and motivated by making a positive impact. Claire serves as the Career Coach for students seeking opportunities within Arts & Entertainment, Education, Law, Government, & Public Administration, and Social Services & Non-Profit fields of interest.
Beth Ford

Beth Ford is starting her third year with Career Development & Vocation after serving in several roles within Augustana and higher education. Beth supports and coaches students through the process of figuring out their passions, purpose and how they want to impact the world. She has a great understanding of experiential learning with CORE, with the overall goal of helping students achieve success. Beth serves as the Career Coach for the Health Sciences and is a First Year Student Advisor. Beth also manages the Viking Score.

Malik Wildermuth is passionate about helping young people identify and reach their goals and helping them get off to a successful start to post-undergrad life. Malik’s coaching skills are also seen on the court as an Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach. Malik will serve as the Career Coach for students seeking opportunities within Accounting, Business, & Management and Communication, Marketing, & Sales fields of interest.
