Nonprofit Leadership Intern

Clock, Inc’s purpose is to provide a non-judgmental, safe, and reliable community center for LGBT+ individuals to reduce any feelings of discrimination or isolation. In fulfilling our mission, Clock, Inc offers various services, including free peer-led community support groups, private and affordable counseling, community events, workshops, training, a chest binder program, name change assistance, a computer lab, a Transgender Clothing Closet, and an LGBT+ mentorship program. 

Clock is looking for a talented and driven student who is interested in pairing passion for our mission with a strong work ethic to make a big impact in the Quad Cities LGBT+ community. The intern will have the unique opportunity to learn the inner workings of a new and growing non-profit organization and assist with community engagement and planning through our various programs and events. They will also have the opportunity to be engaged in a wide variety of programming. Each intern’s skills, experience, and interests are considered to determine the exact nature of the scope of duties.

Nonprofit Leadership Intern Goals/Responsibilities:

  • Gain practical experience within the nonprofit environment.
  • Acquire knowledge of nonprofit processes, policies, and best practices. 
  • Apply knowledge and skills learned in the classroom in a work setting. 
  • Experience the activities and functions of nonprofit professionals. 
  • Develop and refine oral and written communication skills. 
  • Provide administration support to staff.
  • Assist with event planning for fundraising events. 
  • Assist with project coordination. 

Nonprofit Leadership Intern Qualifications/skills:

  • Excellent computer knowledge for both Mac and PC. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) 
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines. 
  • Able and willing to adapt to various duties and be flexible. 
  • Commitment to Clock, Inc’s goals and mission.
  • Possesses time management skills in order to balance multiple projects.

MARKETING INTERN

Clock is looking for an enthusiastic marketing intern to join our team and provide creative ideas to help achieve our goals. You will have administrative duties in developing and implementing marketing strategies. As a marketing intern, you will collaborate with our team in all stages of marketing campaigns. Your insightful contribution will help develop, expand, and maintain our marketing channels. This internship will help you acquire marketing skills and knowledge of various marketing strategies. Ultimately, you will gain broad experience in marketing and should be prepared to enter any fast-paced work environment.

Marketing Intern Job Responsibilities:

  • Write copy for social media posts, promotional emails, and other marketing collateral.
  • Assist with daily administrative tasks.
  • Assist in creating written, video, and image content for marketing channels.
  • Participate in marketing brainstorming sessions. 
  • Design and present new social media and marketing campaigns.
  • Measure and report the results of marketing initiatives. 
  • Developing tools and methods for collecting data, such as surveys, opinion polls, or questionnaires. 
  • Collecting and analyzing data to identify consumer trends. 
     

Marketing Intern Qualifications/skills:

  • Applied understanding of basic marketing principles
  • Familiarity with major social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Etc.)
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently 
  • Comfortable with multitasking in a deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic photography, image and video editing, and graphic design skills 
  • Organization and time management skills
