About the Internship
Driftwood Lodge Resort offers a hands‑on, immersive summer internship designed for students interested in resort management, hospitality, tourism, or recreation leadership. Interns gain real‑world experience in daily resort operations while working on the shores of beautiful Lake Kabetogama, one of the gateway lakes to Voyageurs National Park.
This internship blends customer service, guest interaction, and behind‑the‑scenes operational work — perfect for anyone wanting a well‑rounded introduction to the resort and hospitality industry.
Key Responsibilities
🌟 Guest Services & Front‑of‑House Support
– Welcome guests with a friendly, professional presence
– Assist with check‑ins, check‑outs, and general guest questions
– Provide local knowledge about fishing, boating, hiking, and park activities
– Maintain a clean, organized cabin and facilities environment
🍦 Ice Cream & Snack Service
– Serve ice cream, snacks, and beverages from our Kab Outdoors Store
– Operate point‑of‑sale systems and handle transactions accurately
– Maintain cleanliness and restock supplies
– Deliver a fun, upbeat experience for families and kids
🧹 Cabin Turnover Crew (Turnover Days)
– Participate in cabin cleaning crew on scheduled turnover days
– Clean and reset cabins to Driftwood Lodge standards
– Launder linens, restock essentials, and ensure cabins are guest‑ready
– Work efficiently with the cleaning crew to meet check‑in deadlines
