Identifying Interests: Guided Reflection Journal

When are you most energized, curious, or fully engaged? Often, the clues to what excites and fulfills us are hiding in plain sight through our daily experiences.

Use this journaling activity to reflect on what sparks your interest, even if you’re not sure where it might lead. There are no right or wrong answers, just patterns waiting to be discovered.

Prompts to Explore:

  1. Think back to a time when you lost track of time.
What were you doing? What part of it did you enjoy most?
  2. What do people often come to you for help with?
How does it feel to be that person?
  3. When you scroll through your feed or browse a bookstore, what topics catch your eye?
What do you find yourself clicking on, reading about, or researching more deeply?
  4. Describe a class, project, or activity that made you feel proud or accomplished.
What strengths did you use? What about it was fulfilling?
  5. What’s something you’ve always wanted to try but haven’t yet?
    What’s stopping you?
