For many cause-driven nonprofits, the people who work in policy and advocacy are at the heart of the organization. They are responsible for turning ideas into impact by influencing laws, advancing public opinion, supporting institutional practices, etc.

To pursue a career in this field, it’s helpful to have a background or interest in organizing, communication, or politics. These roles offer the opportunity to amplify underrepresented voices and tackle systemic challenges head-on.
