My Experience As A Coach and An Analyst

Blog Post Written By: Isaac Omar Pacheco Castellon

At the Colorado Soccer Foundation, I had the chance to work as a business analyst, turning raw data into valuable insights that helped management make informed decisions and communicate effectively with donors and other organizations. Additionally, I served as a soccer coach for children aged 6-7, and sometimes even 4-5. This role allowed me to engage in work that interests me and has a positive impact on the community while also directly contributing to young kids’ development through sports.

Throughout my internship, I have realized how meaningful these months have been, even in my role as a summer coach at a nonprofit. Reflecting on my journey at Augustana, I see how I have shaped my path to align with my interests and studies while becoming a mentor who helps kids develop both technical and soft skills that will benefit them in various areas of their lives.

Leading my coaching team, which included younger teenagers, has allowed me to take on more responsibility. This experience has taught me valuable team management skills. I am deeply grateful for the opportunities the Colorado Soccer Foundation has offered me. Working with a small, passionate team dedicated to making an impact in the world has been incredibly inspiring and rewarding.
