🎓Development Intern

PBS seeks a highly motivated, self-starting student who is passionate about public broadcasting and education. The Development Intern will provide hands-on support to the Development Department.  You will gain valuable skills on project management and fundraising. This opportunity is available at the WQPT PBS offices in Moline, IL.

🎓Accounting Intern
WQPT Quad Cities PBS seeks a highly motivated, self-starting student who is passionate about public broadcasting and non-profit business practices. The Accounting Intern will provide hands-on support to the Business Manager and receive training in general accounting, reporting to government agencies and budgeting. This opportunity is available at the WQPT offices in Moline, IL.We are looking for Fall, Spring and Summer Interns. This is a on-going internship program and applicants are accepted anytime.

🎓Broadcasting & Communications Intern
WQPT Quad Cities PBS seeks a highly motivated, enthusiastic, creative student who is passionate about public broadcasting. The Broadcasting & Communications Intern will provide hands-on support to the Production Department and gain valuable skills on writing, editing, researching and close captioning. This opportunity is available at the WQPT offices in Moline, IL.

🎓Educational Outreach & Special Projects Intern
Looking for a fun internship, this is the one for you! WQPT PBS seeks a highly motivated, self-starting student who is passionate about Public Broadcasting and education. The Educational Outreach & Special Projects Intern will provide hands-on support to the Education and Outreach Department. This opportunity is available at the WQPT offices in Moline, IL, on the campus of Western Illinois University – Quad Cities.

Hours: Part-Time (20-25 hrs/week, weekdays and some Saturdays, flexible) 

During summer term (May 25, 2024 – August 16, 2024)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as lead PBS Ambassador during summer outreach programs
  • Provide support for First Book donation program
  • Assist with social media promotions
  • Present educational workshops (reading, coding, etc.) based on PBS programs
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of WQPT events
  • Represent WQPT in the community at events, festivals, libraries and schools
  • Assist with the creation of promotional flyers for events 
  • Perform light clerical office work duties 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Educational Outreach and Development Departments

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and projects
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher) 
  • Experience with Google Workspace (Calendar, Drive, Docs, Slides, Sheets)
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Must be able to act professionally at events and in the workplace 
  • Interested in working with children 

These internships do qualify for the Emerging Professionals Grant if the student is a permanent resident of Illinois.
